Synopsis

Two brothers known for their Bigfoot hunting reality show are invited to a small town where the legendary beast may be very real.

Fast-paced and visually cinematic, Mularkey uses horror and absurdity to tap into the enduring fascination with Bigfoot and the dangers lurking in uncharted wilderness.

About

Comic panels showing a man holding a lion claw, a person attacked by a clawed hand, and a woman questioning a stone arm.

Two brothers, Woody and Gator Mularkey, star in a Bigfoot hunting reality TV series that is experiencing declining ratings. In a last-ditch effort to revive their brand, they travel to northern Minnesota after hearing the pleas of a small town facing a decrease in population. Eerie sounds, hunters who vanish, and a decline in wildlife heighten the community's fear.

To restore their ratings, the brothers must continue their hoax, all while clashing with the local sheriff, who wants them gone but also requires their resources. Unprepared and forming an unlikely alliance, they ultimately confront the Lakota Legend.

Comic panels showing a tense shootout, a frightened man, and a car crashing through a sign.

Spirit of the story

Mularkey is a graphic novel that artfully combines small-town suspense and humor with dark themes and light horror, reminiscent of the vibes in “Tremors” and “Dale & Tucker vs. Evil.” Fast-paced, irreverent, and visually cinematic, Mularkey delivers a thrilling narrative that captures the essence of Bigfoot hunting, intertwining horror, humor, and tension that translates seamlessly to the illustrated page.
